What do you enjoy most about practicing law?

The learning process on a daily basis with regards to different matters, because everyday I learn something new. I also enjoy the hands on process compared to theory.

What is an interesting matter that have you worked on, which also left you feeling a strong sense of pride?

The interesting matter that I worked on was a matter concerning a Small Claims Court matter, where the client incurred loss monetarily due to a failure in the closing of a property. It gives me a strong sense of pride as it was my first case after becoming a Paralegal.

What is one area in your professional life that you were struggling with and conquered?

In my professional life one area I struggled was, being a perfectionist. But my professional life has given me the opportunity or has taught me, that sometimes I need to trust in the process and not be so obsessed in being a perfectionist. In the initial stages of my professional life I had difficulty in letting go of this trait, but I learned how to deal with it. Even to date that area just pops up sometimes, but I tend to ignore it and be in the moment and do things as per the process.

What is your favorite strategy to maintain and improve your mental health and wellness?

My favorite strategy to maintain and improving my mental health and wellness is going on my long walks in the morning before work, while listening to music. This practice has helped me to be energetic, positive, and moreover to be more focused in what I do. Therefore I practice this habit on a regular basis.

It is said, hindsight is 20/20. Looking back, what is one piece of advice you wish you could have given yourself when you first started out in the law?

I have just started out in law, but I would like to say that looking back at my professional life being patient and flexible is an advice I like to give myself at all times. As I said in the beginning, the most enjoyable thing about law is the learning I do on a daily basis. The laws keep changing and I need to be up to date on it, I meet different clients, and I need to learn to work with them too, as each one of them are different. To do all these patience and being flexible are very important.
